Grape: Sangiovese
Origin: Chianti Classico, Italy
Description: Chianti is a region. Chianti
Classico is a smaller, more prestigious region
within Chianti. Riserva refers to how long the
wine ages in wood. Sangiovese is the grape. Got
it? There will be a test. Forget those straw basket
Chiantis of yesteryear. This wine is full of ripe,
rich fruit mingled with spicy tobacco and cocoa.
Medium body, high acid and bracing tannin all
scream Food Wine. So dont even think about
standing around an art gallery sipping it. Make
it happy. Eat something. Youre too skinny.
Food pairing: Prosciutto, chicken cacciatore,
pasta in red sauce and, naturally, pizza.
