Origin: Paso Robles Westside, California

Description: From vineyards so steep the tractor rolled right off, comes this deliciously complex Zinfandel. Many California Zins are over-ripe, jammy and too alcoholic (yes, even for you). But the windswept rocky slopes of Gravity Hills produce elegant and complex wines, with an exuberant bouquet of raspberries, blackberries, cinnamon and ginger. Vines love to be tortured. Masochists.

Food pairing: Perfect with barbecued anything, as well as fruit-based sauces, spicy, tomato-based pasta dishes and roast chicken.
