Origin: Sonoma Valley, California

Description: Good Merlot welcomes you with a big hug and does its best to make you comfortable. This one offers aromas of red plum, cranberry and pomegranate segueing into dried, dusty sage. Delicious now, but if you have a cellar and some self-control, it’ll really wow you in 10 to 12 years.

Food pairing: Herbed dishes, grilled meats and vegetables, citrus and greens.
